Trusting in the Lord (Proverbs 3:5-6)

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” Proverbs 3:5-6

When the going gets tough, it is easy to start to rely on ourselves. To take our lives out of God’s hands because we may not feel comfortable. But here, God tells us that it is in those troubled times especially when we need Him the most. Only when we humble ourselves and submit to Him can we persevere through whatever life throws at us. It can be easy to give in to ourselves and rely on our own strength, but that is when we fall. God is our strength and without Him we are feeble.

By nature, we like to take control. When we don’t know where life is going, we like to figure it out. We like to make decisions by ourselves and often leave God behind. But if we are to serve Him with all our lives, shouldn’t He be the one behind our decisions? Shouldn’t we ask God first and foremost for what He wants in our lives? Let’s be God’s people who shine His light by being content with everything that we have. Having relied on God’s strength alone, we can climb our mountains.

Let’s be those who are never worried for our future because of our faith, relying on God’s providence alone. And surely through this, we can receive great blessing.
