June 5th was a joyful day for the Olivet Assembly United States and Canada (OA USA & CA) and its affiliated churches that celebrated the Day of Pentecost.
The Day of Pentecost is the date that believers celebrate the descension of the Holy Spirit as recorded in the book of Acts (ref. Acts 2). All church members gathered together to pray and to seek strength from above, that is, the power of the Holy Spirit. Jesus said in Acts 1:8 “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
With the evangelism spirit and the desire to witness the Lord Jesus Christ in the US and CA regions, the members prayed fervently to the Lord to be covered by the Spirit of God and not to rely on their own efforts to win souls.
Most churches celebrated this special event by holding retreats and meditating on God’s word.
